Hypnosis (or trance) is a naturally occurring state of consciousness in which the mind’s focus is concentrated on a specific thing or thought. How many times have you been making a journey by car or walking and arrived at your destination not able to remember having got there? Or have been jolted back to reality by some one speaking to you and said “sorry, I was miles away”, You will have slipped into trance.

Contrary to popular belief it is not the same as being asleep, you, the client, will feel comfortable and relaxed, there is no such thing as a hypnotised feeling and you will be in control and aware of your surroundings at all times.

This makes it a very safe therapy, it is not possible to make anybody do or say something against their will.

How does Solution Focused Hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy is growing in popularity every day because it is a safe proven method of helping people overcome their problems and improve their lives.

It works so well because unlike many other forms of therapy, a hypnotherapist can work directly with the subconscious, the area of the mind which is so often the cause of our problems. When “in trance” it is possible to bypass the conscious mind and communicate directly with the subconscious mind. By working directly with the subconscious we can unlock the key to our problems and permanently change patterns of thought and behaviour in a beneficial way.

With Solution Focused Therapy the emphasis is very much on helping the client to resolve their problems, to help them change their perspective on particular aspects of their life allowing them to make positive changes. By encouraging clients to focus on their own inner resources, to work towards things being how they want them to be, solutions can be found that allow them to move forward in their lives in a positive and beneficial way.

This is a very modern form of therapy, which does not require lengthy analysis, or dwell un-necessarily on the past.

This method also incorporates Suggestion Therapy, which allows desired positive changes to be made by using the client’s increased sense of awareness and acceptance of positive suggestion. Altering the client’s beliefs, or negative programming and replacing them with positive suggestions is highly effective in helping with fears, phobias and addictions.
